With the weather getting warmer and warmer every day, it makes me want to be more active outside. As I grew up, I swam, cycled, and ran a whole bunch. I discovered yoga eventually and liked that, too.
I don’t have much of a desire to be running anymore, and I don’t live quite close enough to a pool where I could swim laps. Yoga I can do anytime I want in my living room. And cycling, I can still do that.
Wait a minute, you’re thinking. Aren’t you visually impaired? How are you going to do that?
I’m not confident enough to ride my own bike wherever I would want to with the vision I have and without tools like a monocular, but I married someone who practically lives on a bike. My husband is a bike nerd; not only does he put in hundreds of miles a month on his bikes, but we have a room in our house devoted to his sport which I lovingly refer to as “the bike shoppe.”
My husband and I have ridden a tandem bike. It worked out really well. We are a good team. So, we’re looking into buying one and starting up some regular riding. I see other blind bloggers doing this, notably Becky over at Cruisin’ with Cricket. People like her motivate me to take on a challenge like tandem cycling. It’s something that I think I will enjoy.

Thanks for linking to my blog and yes we love, love tandem cycling! Let’s chat!! We are looking into buying another one as we now take ours back and forth to our homes. We have a burley duet that has served us so well for 13 years!
Becky: Thanks for offering your help as I get into tandem cycling. I will send you an email for more details in the future.
