Oh happy day. Remember when I wrote about the black hole of floor coverings? That rug, it lies no more in Mayberry, rolled up and retired to the attic. Stockton and I replaced it with a solid, neutral-colored area rug.
Me and my low vision, we couldn’t be more pleased. Saving energy, I can feel it. No more desperate searches every time an item hits the floor. In fact, I drop stuff on the new carpet to enjoy the moment of hassle-free discovery. It’s not getting old. Maybe in a few weeks, but not today. It’s the little things.
Which small change made a big difference in your life this week? Tell me about it.
I have a favorite magazine that comes out quarterly. I would struggle to read the small print with a magnifying glass. I was going to give up my subscription when I found out I could get the magazine online for a higher price, but it would have the benefit of me being able to enlarge the text and save a tree. I don’t know why it never occurred to me before. It’s a small thing but it means I can enjoy one of my favorite magazines. It is one less thing that has to be given up and that is a win.
Fantastic, Casee. Which magazine is it?
https://subscribe.laphamsquarterly.us/ecom/aaf/app/live/promosub? They have a podcast by the same name. The articles are really nice. I don’t have enough time to get through all of them but it is an enjoyable read and I learn a lot.
I always like to give credit to a product that is accessible. The history magazine looks interesting, and I’ll check out that podcast.
Yesterday I discovered the special accessible toilet right by the information booth at Liverpool Street Station, London. How good is it not to have to walk yards and negotiate all those stairs for the public toilets!
Wonderful, that’s a time and energy saver, Bridget.
I finally bought a power strip for the other side of my office so I don’t have to get down on my hands and knees to sort through cords every time I need to use my printer. It is the little things. Congrats on the new rug!
Cords are a hassle. Wonderful change.
